The Celtic Tramps is een groep die de folkklanken van de 21e eeuw op zijn kop zet.
Opgericht door muzikanten met een passie voor traditionele muziek en de Keltische cultuur, onderscheidt de band zich vanaf het begin door haar geschiedenis en haar eerste twee EP’s.
In 2025, na zo’n honderd concerten, brengen ze ‘Premier Banquet’ uit, hun eerste studioalbum, een werk dat de rustieke ziel van de Keltische muziek verkent en er tegelijkertijd een frisse en onverwachte draai aan geeft.
In tegenstelling tot Keltische punkbands waarin de elektrische gitaar de boventoon voert, kiezen The Celtic Tramps voor een puur akoestische bezetting, waarmee ze de Keltische muziek terugbrengen naar haar wortels: traditionele instrumenten zoals de uilleann pipes, de nyckelharpa, de bouzouki of de accordeon.
