De tentoonstelling vindt haar oorsprong in de geschiedenis van het Charles-Michels-gebouw zelf, dat vroeger een warenhuis voor stoffen en kleding was. Deze herinnering aan de plek sluit aan bij de wens om aandacht te besteden aan alledaagse verhalen, aan wat ons vertrouwd is en wat we delen.
Deze tentoonstelling belicht de aanwezigheid van kleding in de praktijk van kunstenaars, of deze nu wordt gezien als een drager van identiteit of als een tweede huid. Van stof tot fetisjobject, van weefwerk tot plantaardige, dierlijke of petrochemische grondstoffen, totde tweedehands: het zijn de manieren waarop zichtbare of verborgen lichamen via kleding worden bekeken, tentoongesteld en bezien, die hier worden onderzocht.

La exposición tiene su origen en la propia historia del edificio Charles-Michels, que en su día fue unos grandes almacenes de telas y ropa. Esta memoria del lugar se une al deseo de interesarse por las historias cotidianas, por lo que nos resulta familiar y compartido.
Esta exposición articula la presencia de la ropa en las prácticas de los artistas, ya sea concebida como un vector de identidad o como una segunda piel. Desde el tejido hasta el objeto fetiche, desde el tejido hasta la materia prima vegetal, animal o petroquímica, hastala ropa de segunda mano, lo que aquí se analiza son las formas de observar, exponer y reflexionar sobre los cuerpos visibles u ocultos a través de la ropa.

Diese Erinnerung an den Ort verbindet sich mit dem Bestreben, sich mit den Geschichten des Alltags zu beschäftigen – mit dem, was uns vertraut ist und was wir gemeinsam teilen.
Die Ausstellung beleuchtet die Rolle der Kleidung in der künstlerischen Praxis, sei sie nun als Identitätsträger oder als zweite Haut verstanden.
