Roof van joodse bezittingen, smokkel en overdracht van kunstwerken: de kunstmarkt bloeide tijdens de bezetting. Nu het debat over teruggave in volle gang is, brengt dit onderzoek de netwerken in kaart die deze markt hebben gevoed, om zo een onvoltooid verhaal te ontrafelen.
