Allemand (Allemagne) Die Buchhandlung „De natura rerum“ zeigt eine Auswahl von Fotografien von Anna Leroy, die einen ganz eigenen Blick auf die griechische und römische Bildhauerkunst wirft. In Schwarz-Weiß offenbart sich dort eine ganze Welt von Skulpturen: Aphrodite, Hermes, Neptun, Alexander, Satyrn und Nymphen, Epheben und Helden, Porträts und Drapierungen. Diese Skulpturen aus Carrara-, Pentelikon- oder Paros-Marmor spielen ganz natürlich mit dem Licht, doch sie sind bewusst ausgewählt – oft fragmentarisch oder sogar verstümmelt, oder aus nächster Nähe eingefangen und somit in anderer Weise fragmentarisch. Genau darin liegen die ästhetischen Entscheidungen des Künstlers, die sich aus seinen Reisen ergeben – ganz selbstverständlich zwischen Athen und Rom, aber auch zwischen dem Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York und dem Louvre … und natürlich in Arles.
Die Ausstellung wird von Texten von Ludovic Laugier begleitet. Anlässlich dieser Ausstellung erscheint ein Buch in limitierter Auflage, das die Fotos und Texte vereint und bei der Vernissage erhältlich sein wird.

Français (France) La librairie De natura rerum expose une sélection de photographies d’Anna Leroy qui offre justement sur la statuaire grecque et romaine un certain regard. S’y dévoile en noir et blanc tout un peuple de sculptures d’Aphrodite, d’Hermès, de Neptune, d’Alexandre, de satyres et de nymphes, d’éphèbes et de héros, de portraits ou de drapés. Ces marbres, de Carrare, du Pentélique ou de Paros, jouent avec la lumière sans artifice, mais ils sont choisis, souvent fragmentaires voire mutilés, ou cadrés de près, autrement parcellaires. C’est là que se situent les choix esthétiques de l’artiste, au gré de ses voyages, entre Athènes et Rome tout naturellement, mais encore entre le Metropolitan Museum of Art de New York et le Louvre… et à Arles bien entendu.
L’exposition est accompagnée de textes de Ludovic Laugier. Un ouvrage en tirage limité qui rassemble les photos et les textes est publié à l’occasion de cette exposition, et sera disponible lors du vernissage.

Italien (Italie) La libreria De natura rerum espone una selezione di fotografie di Anna Leroy che offre proprio uno sguardo particolare sulla statuaria greca e romana. In bianco e nero si svela così un intero mondo di sculture raffiguranti Afrodite, Ermes, Nettuno, Alessandro, satiri e ninfe, efebi ed eroi, ritratti o drappeggi. Questi marmi, provenienti da Carrara, dal Pentelico o da Paros, giocano con la luce senza artifici, ma sono scelti, spesso frammentari o addirittura mutilati, oppure inquadrati da vicino, in modo da apparire ancora più frammentari. È qui che si collocano le scelte estetiche dell’artista, al ritmo dei suoi viaggi, tra Atene e Roma naturalmente, ma anche tra il Metropolitan Museum of Art di New York e il Louvre… e ad Arles, ovviamente.
La mostra è accompagnata da testi di Ludovic Laugier. In occasione di questa mostra viene pubblicato un volume in edizione limitata che raccoglie le foto e i testi, e sarà disponibile durante l’inaugurazione.

Néerlandais (Pays-Bas) Boekhandel De natura rerum toont een selectie foto’s van Anna Leroy, die juist op de Griekse en Romeinse beeldhouwkunst een bijzondere blik werpt. In zwart-wit ontvouwt zich daar een heel volk van beelden van Aphrodite, Hermes, Neptunus, Alexander, saters en nimfen, éphEbes en helden, portretten of draperingen. Deze marmeren beelden, afkomstig uit Carrara, Pentelicus of Paros, spelen op natuurlijke wijze met het licht, maar ze zijn zorgvuldig geselecteerd: vaak fragmentarisch of zelfs verminkt, of van dichtbij in beeld gebracht, en daardoor nog fragmentarischer. Daarin komen de esthetische keuzes van de kunstenaar tot uiting, tijdens zijn reizen, natuurlijk tussen Athene en Rome, maar ook tussen het Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York en het Louvre… en in Arles natuurlijk.

Espagnol La librería De natura rerum expone una selección de fotografías de Anna Leroy que ofrece precisamente una mirada particular sobre la estatuaria griega y romana. Allí se revela, en blanco y negro, todo un mundo de esculturas de Afrodita, Hermes, Neptuno, Alejandro, sátiros y ninfas, efebos y héroes, retratos y figuras con ropajes drapeados. Estos mármoles, procedentes de Carrara, del Pentélico o de Paros, juegan con la luz sin artificios, pero están seleccionados —a menudo fragmentarios o incluso mutilados— o encuadrados de cerca, lo que los hace parecer aún más fragmentarios. Ahí es donde se sitúan las elecciones estéticas del artista, al ritmo de sus viajes, entre Atenas y Roma, como es natural, pero también entre el Museo Metropolitano de Arte de Nueva York y el Louvre… y en Arles, por supuesto.

Anglais The De natura rerum bookstore is exhibiting a selection of photographs by Anna Leroy, which offer a unique perspective on Greek and Roman statuary. Unveiled in black and white are a whole host of sculptures of Aphrodite, Hermes, Neptune, Alexander, satyrs and nymphs, ephebes and heroes, portraits, and drapery. These marbles—from Carrara, Pentelic, or Paros—play with light without artifice, yet they are carefully chosen: often fragmentary or even mutilated, or framed close-up, appearing otherwise disjointed. This is where the artist’s aesthetic choices lie, shaped by his travels—naturally between Athens and Rome, but also between the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Louvre… and in Arles, of course.
