Since the 12th century, Gabas has been a welcome stop for shepherds, merchants, and pilgrims. Its chapel welcomes us at the entrance to the hamlet, and while we must reconstruct its history based on the few written records we have—dating back to 1838—engravings, drawings, lithographs, watercolors, and photographs have preserved its memory. Art lovers and artists alike fall under its spell, and even today it still catches our eye. People stop there, come to pray, find refuge there, and all these documents are invaluable for reconstructing its history and helping the residents of Ossal in their desire to restore it and preserve it for many years to come.

Al sinds de 12e eeuw is Gabas een welkome rustplaats voor herders, handelaars en pelgrims. De kapel verwelkomt ons bij de ingang van het gehucht en als we de opbouw ervan moeten reconstrueren op basis van de schaarse geschriften die we bezitten – sinds 1838 – dan houden gravures, tekeningen, lithografieën, aquarellen en foto’s de herinnering aan de kapel levend houden. Liefhebbers en kunstenaars raken in de ban van haar charme en ook vandaag de dag trekt ze nog steeds onze aandacht. Men stopt er even, men komt er bidden, men vindt er toevlucht, en al deze documenten zijn waardevol om de geschiedenis ervan te reconstrueren en de inwoners van Ossalois te helpen in hun wens om het te restaureren en nog lang te behouden.

Kunstliebhaber und Künstler erliegen ihrem Charme, und auch heute noch zieht sie unsere Blicke auf sich. Man hält dort an, man kommt zum Beten, man findet dort Zuflucht, und all diese Dokumente sind wertvoll, um die Geschichte der Kapelle zu rekonstruieren und den Einwohnern von Ossal in ihrem Wunsch zu helfen, sie zu restaurieren und noch lange zu erhalten.

Su capilla nos da la bienvenida a la entrada de la aldea y, si tuviéramos que reconstruir su historia a partir de los escasos escritos de los que disponemos desde 1838, grabados, dibujos, litografías, acuarelas y fotografías conservan su memoria. Tanto aficionados como artistas caen rendidos a su encanto y, aún hoy, sigue llamando nuestra atención. Nos detenemos en ella, venimos a rezar, encontramos refugio en ella, y todos estos documentos son valiosos para reconstruir su historia y ayudar a los habitantes de Ossal en su deseo de restaurarla y conservarla durante mucho tiempo aún.
