Evrecy was in een ver verleden een belangrijk religieus centrum. In de 7e eeuw had Evrecy een klooster dat zeer beroemd was. Op de ruïnes van het klooster, dat door de Vikingen werd verwoest, werd in de 13e eeuw een parochiekerk gebouwd, die afhing van de Mont-Saint-Michel.
In het noorden zijn twee arcades met daarboven een klokkentoren de overblijfselen van de twee kapellen die in de 15e eeuw aan weerszijden van het koor werden gebouwd. De kerk werd gerestaureerd tijdens het Tweede Keizerrijk. Na 1950 werd het herbouwd volgens de oude plattegrond van het gebouw: een klokkentoren-porch geeft uit op een schip met zes traveeën, verlengd met een lang rechthoekig koor. Slechts één boog bleef gespaard en is nu een beschermd monument.
