Néerlandais (Pays-Bas) Het eilandje Saint-Michel is met het strand verbonden door een smalle strook zand en rotsen en is alleen toegankelijk bij eb.
Het heeft veel legendes geïnspireerd. De beroemdste legende is dat een schat aan goudstaven daar verborgen lag en werd meegesleurd door een storm van zeldzaam geweld. Het goud, opgeslokt en weggesleten door de golven, veranderde in zand en gaf de stranden van Erquy hun uitzonderlijke kleuren.
Op de top van het eilandje ligt de Chapelle Saint-Michel, gebouwd in 1880 op de fundamenten van een andere kapel uit de 13e eeuw, die al meer dan 20 jaar liefdevol wordt onderhouden door de vereniging 'Les Amis de la Chapelle Saint-Michel'.
Niet te missen op 3 augustus is de processie van de gratie van Saint-Michel, die vertrekt vanaf de Port des Hôpitaux. Daar wordt een mis opgedragen met uitzicht op zee voordat de processie en de bagad van Saint-Cast vertrekken richting het eilandje.
De vereniging organiseert ook rondleidingen over de geschiedenis en de omgeving van de plek.

Dansen, eten en drinken: sinds 1 mei 2025 kun je genieten van de danszaal "Chez LuLu" op het terrein van camping Saint-Michel. Openingstijden: donderdag t/m vrijdag van 15.30 tot 22.00 uur en zaterdag t/m zondag van 9.00 tot 22.00 uur.
Advies voor bezoekers
Kom in ruil voor een kleine donatie een ex-voto achterlaten op de gedenkbalk buiten het kapelletje. Schrijf op een lege schaal een eerbetoon of een gebed voor een dierbare. Je donatie helpt de vereniging Vrienden van de Kapel om deze uitzonderlijke plek te behouden.

En échange d’un don même modeste, venez déposer un ex-voto sur la barre des souvenirs à l’extérieur de la petite chapelle. Sur une coquille vide inscrivez un hommage, une prière à un être cher. Votre don aidera l'association des Amis de la Chapelle à préserver ce site exceptionnel.

Anglais The islet of Saint-Michel is linked to the beach by a narrow strip of sand and rocks, and is only accessible at low tide.
It has inspired many legends. The most famous is that a treasure trove of ingots was hidden there and was swept away by a storm of rare violence. The gold swallowed up and worn away by the waves turned to sand, giving Erquy?s beaches their exceptional colors.
Perched atop the islet, Chapelle Saint-Michel, built in 1880 on the foundations of another 13th-century chapel, has been lovingly maintained for over 20 years by the association 'Les Amis de la Chapelle Saint-Michel'.
Not to be missed on August 3, the pardon de Saint-Michel procession, which departs from the Port des Hôpitaux. A mass is celebrated there, facing the sea, before the procession and the Saint-Cast bagad head for the islet.
The association also organizes guided tours of the site?s history and environment.
How to get there?
The Saint-Michel islet is accessible on foot from the Saint-Michel beach, according to tide times.
Timetables are posted in the parking lot on rue Saint-Michel.

Toilets: located at the entrance to the parking lot
Equipment: the rocks are a little slippery, so bring good shoes!
Visiting the chapel: volunteers open the building according to tide times, during school vacations.
Dancing, eating and drinking: since May 1, 2025, you can enjoy the "Chez LuLu" guinguette on the grounds of the Saint-Michel campsite. Opening hours: Thursday to Friday, 3.30pm to 10pm and Saturday to Sunday, 9am to 10pm.
