Anglais It is 1937, and archaeologist Christiane Le Ray is preparingto begin excavations to determine whether Maillezais is home to the remains of a Neolithic enclosure, of which there are many in the Vendée. She is enthusiastic. She has just discovered an aurochs bone at the foot of the abbey, a sign that this animal was present. With the support of Achille Daroux, deputy and mayor of Maillezais, she will attempt to recruit volunteers to successfully carry out the excavation project.
The Marais is a region rich in flora and fauna. The land has always been in a state of constant change; the landscape evolves and adapts to the needs of the people who inhabit it, and has done so throughout the centuries.

Italien (Italie) Siamo nel 1937 e l'archeologa Christiane Le Ray si apprestaa iniziare gli scavi per stabilire se Maillezais ospiti i resti di una cinta muraria neolitica, come ce ne sono molte in Vandea. È entusiasta. Ha appena scoperto un fumo di uro ai piedi dell'abbazia, segno che questo animale era presente. Sostenuta da Achille Daroux, deputato e sindaco di Maillezais, cercherà di reclutare nuove energie per portare avanti il progetto di scavi.
Il Marais è un territorio ricco di fauna e flora. I terreni sono sempre stati in continua evoluzione, il paesaggio cambia e si adatta alle esigenze degli uomini che li abitano, e questo nel corso dei secoli.
