Mit einem Ausrufezeichen. Denn wir weigern uns, uns selbst ernst zu nehmen. „Pan“ steht auch für unsere Verbindung zur Mythologie. Wir beide bilden zusammen ein hybrides Wesen, halb Gott, halb Mensch. Und durch die Hand-in-Hand-Darbietungen wollen wir all das erforschen: die Vieldeutigkeit der Beziehung zwischen zwei Männern. Wer sind wir gemeinsam? Unsere jeweiligen Vornamen führen uns zumindest zum Imperialismus. Das treibt uns zur Leichtigkeit, zum Spott. Aber wir meinen es ernst. Ernsthaft mit so viel Leichtigkeit wie möglich. Ernsthaft durch unsere Ausbildung, durch unsere technische Recherche, und leicht durch unseren Willen, über die Virtuosität hinaus zu existieren. Was uns anzieht, sind kleine Momente der Anmut. Augenblicke, deren mühsame Entstehung wir gemeinsam mit unserem Musiker geheim halten, um Poesie zu schenken.
Die Vorstellung wird im Rahmen von SPRING, dem Festival für neue Zirkusformen in der Normandie, vom 17. März bis zum 11. April 2027 präsentiert. Präsentiert von der „Plateforme 2 Pôles Cirque en Normandie“, „La Brèche“ in Cherbourg und dem „Cirque-Théâtre d’Elbeuf“. SPRING wird gemeinsam mit der Métropole Rouen Normandie in deren Gebiet organisiert.

Et par les portés de main à main, c‘est tout cela que nous voulons explorer, la polysémie du rapport entre deux hommes. Ensemble, qui sommes-nous ? Nos prénoms respectifs nous conduisent a minima à l‘impérialisme. Voilà qui nous pousse à la légèreté, à la dérision. Mais voilà, nous sommes sérieux. Sérieux avec le plus de légèreté possible. Sérieux par notre formation, par notre recherche technique, et légers par notre volonté d’exister au-delà de la virtuosité. Ce qui nous attire, ce sont de petits moments de grâce. Des instants dont nous gardons la laborieuse fabrication secrète, en complicité avec notre musicien, pour offrir de la poésie.

With a “Pan” of exclamation. Because we refuse to take ourselves too seriously. “Pan” also represents our connection to mythology. The two of us together form a hybrid being—half-god, half-man. And through our hand-to-hand acrobatics, that’s exactly what we want to explore: the multiple meanings of the relationship between two men. Together, who are we? Our respective first names lead us, at the very least, to imperialism. This is what drives us toward lightheartedness, toward derision. But here’s the thing: we’re serious. Serious with as much lightheartedness as possible. Serious in our training and technical exploration, yet lighthearted in our desire to exist beyond mere virtuosity. What draws us in are those small moments of grace. Moments whose painstaking creation we keep secret, in collaboration with our musician, to offer poetry.
