This sculpture was above all for the artist a search for finesse and lightness. Placed on its branch, with its lacy wings, the dragonfly comes to life in the slightest breeze. Its deep blue glass paste eyes are like two sapphires that light up at the slightest ray of sunlight.

Christophe Batardière began his career as a sculptor-designer at the age of 30. He creates sculptures in metal and stainless steel. His approach is close to that of a fashion designer, with a technical and sophisticated approach to production. His works are odes to nature, to its diversity and complexity. In parallel to his animal sculptures and anthropomorphic masks, he is evolving towards more monumental works.
