Anglais To mark the National Architecture Days, centred on the theme ‘Regeneration: building the future’, the CAUE du Jura invites you to take a rare opportunity to explore three remarkable regeneration projects in the Jura. Guided by the architects and designers behind the projects, these tours will offer a behind-the-scenes look at their transformation, provide insight into the decisions that shaped the projects, and give you the chance to speak directly with those responsible.
The first stop on the tour is a former farmstead converted into a home by architect Antoine Devaux.
The animals left the farm long ago, but the barn still bears the traces of what was once a bustling agricultural operation. The roof structure, the hay storage system and the layout of the spaces bear witness to a way of life that has now disappeared.
Rather than erasing these traces to make way for new uses, the project reveals them and builds upon them to transform the building into a home whilst preserving its identity. This is an opportunity to discover, through a concrete example, how regeneration can create a dialogue between the site’s history, the qualities of the existing structure and contemporary uses.
Open to the public on this special occasion, this project will be presented and discussed by Antoine Devaux, who will share his approach and reflect on the architectural choices and challenges involved in this transformation.
The tour will continue with a look at two other regeneration projects in the Jura. At the end of the tour, a round-table discussion chaired by Stéphane Écarnot, director of the CAUE du Jura, will bring together the architects to continue the discussion on the regeneration of existing buildings and the challenges involved. The day will conclude with a convivial gathering.
For organisational reasons, registration is compulsory for the guided tours and recommended for the round-table discussion. Bookings can be made by email at documentation@caue39.fr or by telephone on 03 84 24 30 36.
