Das Othe Armance Festival präsentiert im Rahmen seines Wanderfestivals: Lucien Cheenne ist uns durch seine energiegeladenen Anfänge in der Punk- und Alternative-Szene bekannt. Seine Intensität ist ungebrochen. Doch heute drückt er sie anders aus: durch die Sprache, die Stimme, die Arrangements. Der Rock ist immer noch präsent, lauert im Verborgenen, ist aber mit Folk-Einflüssen, psychedelischen Elementen und vor allem einer ganz persönlichen Lyrik durchzogen. Beim Hören von Stücken wie „Derrière l'amour“ (Hinter der Liebe) – einer bewegenden Liebeserklärung eines Sohnes an seinen Vater, vierzig Jahre später – oder „Les écorchés“ (Die Gehäuteten) koexistieren Einfachheit und Exzess. Lucien Chéenne es conocido sobre todo por sus furiosos comienzos en el mundo del punk y de la música alternativa. Lo que no ha cambiado es su intensidad. Pero hoy, esa intensidad se manifiesta de otra manera: a través del lenguaje, la voz y los arreglos. El rock sigue ahí, acechando en la sombra, pero se viste con tonos folk, toques psicodélicos y, sobre todo, un lirismo propio. Escuchando temas como Derrière l'amour -una declaración profundamente conmovedora de un hijo a su padre, cuarenta años después- o Les écorchés, se percibe la cohabitación de la pureza y el exceso.
