Ubu is een gelukkige man. Hij houdt van eten, slapen en het gezelschap van koning Wenceslas, wiens trouwe officier hij is. Maar op een dag fluistert Moeder Ubu hem een ander plan in: waarom zou hij niet de plaats van koning Wenceslas innemen en op zijn beurt koning worden? Met de hulp van kapitein Bordure bereikt Vader Ubu al snel zijn doel. Maar hoe ver zal hij gaan?
