A documentary by Sophie Jeaneau and Magali Debrabandere. Produced by La Famiglia, 2024, 102 minutes, French version. At the age of forty, chef Cyril Lignac is reinventing himself by opening his first restaurant in London. It’s quite an adventure for this lad from the Aveyron, the grandson of a miner who hated school, and for whom nothing seemed to point towards the limelight. This feature-length documentary, filmed behind the scenes of his life, also reveals his meteoric rise and the obstacles he had to overcome to make his mark on the gastronomic scene. Through the testimonies of his loved ones and those who helped change his destiny, such as the critic François-Regis Gaudry, this is the story of a teenager who realised his dearest dream and who continues to dream. The screening will be followed by a discussion about the film and a drinks reception. In the presence of Alain Madeleine, head chef and Knight of the World Order of the Culinary Academy, and Aline Colau, a teacher at the Lycée Pontarcher in Vesoul.
