The FL Art Space invites the public to discover authentic Indian miniatures in the Persian and Mughal styles—paintings executed with the utmost finesse.
The history of Indian painting, particularly Rajput and Mughal art, spans the 16th through the 19th centuries, primarily in the kingdoms of Rajasthan. At that time, miniatures were primarily on paper, found in manuscripts, and often accompanied by texts.
The evolution of the depictions and characteristics of the paintings is due to various invasions and influences from the Mughals, Persians, and Indians.
This exhibition will feature paintings depicting court scenes, hunting scenes, and portraits of prominent figures—which allowed the sultan to identify his visitors—as well as texts and illuminations.
We hope to welcome visitors with an Indian atmosphere that inspires a sense of travel.
