Maria Zambrano was a Spanish philosopher and poet. An anti-Franco activist, she was condemned to exile for over thirty years. She returned to Spain to die.
In 1948 she published her first text, "The Delirium of Antigone", which 19 years later became "The Tomb of Antigone".
In Antigone's Tomb, Maria Zambrano decides to give Antigone time: "Sophocles gave her a tomb. We also had to give her time. And more than death, passage".
