Michel, a factory worker in Belfort; Marie-France, a journalist in Paris; and Luc, a teacher in Vénissieux, were all born in 1950. In 1981, they voted for Mitterrand, convinced that a Socialist president would “change their lives.” By 2022, their views had changed radically. To understand their disillusionment, the three actors take turns portraying “their” Mitterrand and his inner circle. With a mix of humor and bitterness, they recount the hopes and then the disillusionment of a generation and summarize two seven-year terms in just over an hour.
