On peut voir dans les motifs qui la composent, piscine, plongeoir, ciel bleu, palmiers, et carreaux en céramique, un clin d’oeil au Bigger Splash de David Hockney, figure majeure du mouvement pop art des années 1960.
Mais la composition, jouant sur des formes-contreformes, et déconstruite à la manière de collages, un des procédés favoris du surréalisme, donne à cette oasis une dimension poétique, en lien avec l’inconscient et l’inexplicable.
