Néerlandais (Pays-Bas) Dorlisheim is een dorp dat genesteld ligt aan de ingang van de Bruchevallei, waarvan de heuvels van voor de Moezel ideaal zijn voor het verbouwen van wijnstokken. Het ligt aan de wijnroute van de Elzas, op ongeveer twintig kilometer van Straatsburg.
De ingang van de stad wordt gemarkeerd door een imposante zandstenen zuil (17e eeuw - Napoleon I), met daarop een zonnewijzer. Het is ook de geboorteplaats van het merk Bugatti. In 1909 betrok de familie Bugatti de villa Hardtmühle naast de fabriek. De familie is heel dicht bij het dorp gebleven, waar de belangrijkste leden van de familie in de grafkelder begraven liggen: Carlo Bugatti en Teresa, hun kinderen Deanice, Rembrandt en Ettore, de vrouw van laatstgenoemde en hun kinderen Lébé en Jean. Het Château Saint-Jean is nu het hoofdkantoor van Bugatti Automobiles SAS (Volkswagen Group), het bedrijf dat de auto's assembleert.
De katholieke kerk Saint-Laurent heeft een glas-in-loodraam dat is geschonken door de familie Bugatti. De protestantse parochiekerk is een mooi Romaans gebouw met een koor uit de gotische periode.
