Julien Discrit, geógrafo de formación, cuestiona la representación del espacio, ya sea real o imaginario, a través de diferentes medios: escultura, instalación, vídeo, fotografía o pintura. Inspirado por la geomorfología y las neurociencias, su trabajo se centra tanto en describir procesos físicos o biológicos como en cuestionar su representación visual. A menudo relativas o fragmentarias, sus representaciones exploran las relaciones entre el ser humano y el mundo que le rodea, abordan las relaciones entre lo visible y lo oculto, y evocan una memoria a la vez colectiva y personal.

The FRAC Franche-Comté is showcasing Julien Discrit’s work at the Chapelle de l’Espérance and at nine other venues. Trained as a geographer, Julien Discrit explores the representation of space – whether real or imaginary – through various media, including sculpture, installation, video, photography and painting. Inspired by geomorphology and neuroscience, his work seeks to describe physical and biological processes, whilst also examining how these are visualised. Often relative or fragmentary, his representations explore the relationships between human beings and the world around them, examine the connections between the visible and the hidden, and evoke a memory that is both collective and personal.

Der gelernte Geograf Julien Discrit hinterfragt die Darstellung des realen oder imaginären Raums mithilfe verschiedener Medien – Skulptur, Installation, Video, Fotografie oder Malerei.
