In Plouguerneau, the Île Vierge lighthouse is a precious landmark for sailors. Lit in 1902, Europe?s tallest lighthouse (82.5m) illuminates the horizon with a white glow every 5 seconds over a distance of almost 42 km.
At the heart of this solid tower: 12,500 opaline slabs on the wall and 397 steps! The reward at the top is an exceptional panorama of the Abers region. Guarded until 2010, it is now automated and operated from Ouessant Island.
Open from April to October, depending on the tides, access by boat or kayak, paddle or sail.

Der höchste Leuchtturm Europas (82,5 m) wurde 1902 in Betrieb genommen und beleuchtet den Horizont alle 5 Sekunden mit einem weißen Licht auf einer Länge von fast 42 km.
Im Inneren dieses soliden Turms befinden sich 12.500 Opalplatten an der Wand und 397 Stufen! Der Gipfel ist eine schöne Belohnung: ein außergewöhnliches Panorama über die Abers. Bis 2010 wurde der Turm bewacht, heute ist er automatisiert und wird von der Insel Ouessant aus gesteuert.
Geöffnet von April bis Oktober je nach Gezeiten, Zugang per Boot oder Kajak, Paddle, Segeln.

De hoogste vuurtoren van Europa (82,5 m) werd in 1902 aangestoken en verlicht elke 5 seconden de horizon met een witte gloed over een afstand van bijna 42 km.
Het hart van deze solide toren: 12.500 opaline platen op de muur en 397 treden! De beloning op de top is een uitzonderlijk panorama over de Abers. De toren werd tot 2010 bewaakt, maar is nu geautomatiseerd en wordt bediend vanaf het eiland Ushant.
Open van april tot oktober, afhankelijk van de getijden, toegang per boot of kajak, peddel of zeil.

Al centro di questa solida torre: 12.500 targhe opaline sulla parete e 397 gradini! La ricompensa in cima è un panorama eccezionale sull'Abers. Sorvegliata fino al 2010, è ora automatizzata e gestita dall'isola di Ushant.
Aperto da aprile a ottobre a seconda delle maree, è accessibile in barca o in kayak, a remi o a vela.
