Anglais The small château is a beautiful country house (perhaps a canon’s residence) used for entertaining, built toward the end of the 17th century. Its first owner was Antoine Girard (1615–1703). Important figures stayed there, including François Martial Le Royer, captain of the Dragoons, and his wife Armande, née Baroness of the Holy Roman Empire (baptism of their daughter Charlotte in 1783 —parish register).
Pierre Sellier (1902–1987) describes it to us with passion: “A fairy-tale castle slumbering in the countryside, with an old moss-covered roof and slate-covered turrets, along the ‘charrière boyau,’ a section of a Roman road...”
