Er unterscheidet sich auch von den Berichten seiner Zeit. Tatsächlich erklärt der Untertitel des Berichts über seinen Aufenthalt vor Ort, "Der federlose Indianer", wenn auch fragwürdig, auf jeden Fall die Richtung seiner Untersuchung und seiner Vision des mexikanischen Landes: Würde die Revolution von 1910-1920 nach fast drei Jahrhunderten kolonialer Ausbeutung und einem Jahrhundert chaotischer Unabhängigkeit der indigenen Bevölkerung wieder einen zentralen Platz einräumen?

Anglais Marc Chadourne?s trip to Mexico in the early 1930s has nothing in common with those of today?s tourists. It also stands apart from the accounts of his time. In fact, the subtitle of his account of his stay in Mexico, "L'Indien sans plumes" ("The Featherless Indian"), although debatable, explains the direction of his investigation and his vision of the Mexican land: after almost three centuries of colonial exploitation and a century of chaotic independence, would the Revolution of 1910-1920 restore the central role of the indigenous populations?
