Ein sensationeller zirkusartiger Einblick in das Leben in Guinea
Mit „Yongoy%E9ly“ (die Beschneiderin, im Soussou-Dialekt) setzen der Regisseur Yann Ecauvre und der Leiter des legendären Circus Baobab, Kerfalla Camara, ihre künstlerische Zusammenarbeit nach „Y%E9!“ im Jahr 2023. Ihr neues Werk ist eine Hommage an die weibliche Kraft, an die zentrale Rolle der Frauen und an ihre Widerstandsfähigkeit angesichts der Herausforderungen des Lebens.
Sie lässt uns in die Hektik der Straßen von Conakry eintauchen, wo wir den Alltag einer Handvoll Frauen und Männer entdecken, die zwischen Staub und Betonsteinen, Musik und Gesang, Rufe und Tänze, uns mit allen Disziplinen des Zirkus erzählen – Luftakrobatik, Akrobatik mit erstaunlichen Geräten, Baumstämmen – kleine Baumstämme, die sich in chinesische Stangen, russische Barren oder Seiltänzer-Seile verwandeln –? – von ihrer Hoffnung auf ein besseres Leben. So würden die Frauen durch die Kraft ihres Engagements von den Verpflichtungen und Verstümmelungen befreit, die ihnen eine Gesellschaft im Umbruch auferlegt.

Su nueva creación rinde homenaje al poder femenino, al papel central de las mujeres y a su capacidad de resiliencia ante las adversidades de la vida.
Nos sumerge en el bullicio de las calles de Conakry, donde descubrimos la vida cotidiana de un puñado de mujeres y hombres que, entre el polvo y los bloques de hormigón, música y cantos, gritos y bailes, nos cuentan, a través de todas las disciplinas circenses — acrobacias aéreas, acrobacias con aparatos sorprendentes, los troncos, pequeños troncos de árbol que se transforman en postes chinos, barra rusa o cuerda de funambulistas,?— su esperanza de una vida mejor. Así, las mujeres se liberarían, gracias a la fuerza de su compromiso, de las obligaciones y mutilaciones que les impone una sociedad en plena transformación.

It plunges us into the frenzy of the streets of Conakry, where we discover the daily lives of a handful of women and men who, amid dust and cinder blocks, music and song, shouts and dance, tell their stories through all the disciplines of the circus— aerial acrobatics, acrobatics with surprising apparatus—logs, small tree trunks that transform into Chinese poles, Russian bars, or tightrope ropes—their hope for a better life. Thus, the women are liberated—through the strength of their commitment—from the obligations and mutilations imposed on them by a society in the throes of upheaval.
