Anglais The exterior façade of Geneva Cathedral, which was built from the second half of the 12th century onwards, has recently undergone restoration. Six medieval capitals were removed as they were too damaged to be restored. To replace them, copies were made, with the aim of recreating their original state as faithfully as possible. The restoration process will be traced through an investigation that will lead to the discovery of the interior capitals, which are little known but remarkable both for their number and their iconography.
Français (France) La façade extérieure de la cathédrale de Genève, édifiée à partir de la seconde moitié du XIIe siècle, a récemment fait l’objet d’une restauration. Six chapiteaux médiévaux ont été retirés, trop endommagés pour être restaurés. Pour les remplacer, des copies en ont été faites en tentant de restituer au plus près l’état d’origine. Le processus de restitution sera retracé, à travers une enquête qui mènera à la découverte des chapiteaux intérieurs, méconnus, mais riches tant par leur nombre que par leur iconographie.
Allemand (Allemagne) Die Außenfassade der Genfer Kathedrale, deren Bau in der zweiten Hälfte des 12. Jahrhunderts begann, wurde kürzlich restauriert. Sechs mittelalterliche Kapitelle wurden entfernt, da sie zu stark beschädigt waren, um restauriert zu werden. Um sie zu ersetzen, wurden Kopien angefertigt, wobei versucht wurde, den ursprünglichen Zustand so genau wie möglich wiederherzustellen. Der Prozess der Wiederherstellung wird anhand einer Untersuchung nachgezeichnet, die zur Entdeckung der wenig bekannten, aber sowohl hinsichtlich ihrer Anzahl als auch ihrer Ikonografie reichhaltigen Innenkapitelle führt.
