Pain has been building up for years, until it all came crashing down. There’s the before, the after, and the in-between.
Before, when her husband was still there, when her son helped her around the house, with the shopping, with... When did they leave? Why? She can’t remember.
Then there’s the moment of the collapse: she’s in her kitchen —she remembers that—listening to her favorite show on the radio—and she was going to make some coffee, yes, surely some coffee? Suddenly, there was a loud noise, like a landslide, or an iceberg collapsing into the icy ocean.
And then, there’s the aftermath. When the firefighters find her under the rubble… Is she alive or dead? It’s unclear.
The play plays with the concept of time, just as the illness plays with Dolores’s mind. After, before, during?
Spaces blend together: bedroom, kitchen, ice floe?
The radio asks her intimate questions, a bear crosses the stage, a doctor watches over her, and Diogenes shows up uninvited to criticize her.
Dolorés would really like to be left alone.
Her pile of belongings was meant to protect her from the outside world, but the outside world keeps invading and harassing her.
No consigue recordarlo.
No queda claro.
