A life of travel and exile, spanning Germany, France and Hollywood, marked by the great names of cinema he rubbed shoulders with and by a body of work that has consistently explored history and memory. Selected for the Directors\u2019 Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013, and later broadcast on Arte, *Un voyageur* is an intimate and humorous portrait of a key witness to the 20th century.\n\nThe guest\n\nThe evening will be hosted by Vincent Jaglin, who co-directed the film. He began his career in 2000 as an intern and then as an assistant editor on the Franco-Belgian programme *Strip-Tease*, before assisting chief editor Sophie Brunet on films by Bertrand Tavernier and Virginie Wagon. In 2002, he directed his first film, *Ma gare, ma petite ind\u00E9pendance*, and then worked for sixteen years as a chief editor for France 3. His investigative film *La D\u00E9couverte ou l\u2019Ignorance \u2013 Histoire de mes fant\u00F4mes bretons* won the Grand Prix at the Rendez-vous de l\u2019Histoire in Blois in 2014. It was whilst preparing this film that, in 2010, he met Marcel Ophuls, his \u2018cinematic mentor\u2019, whom he persuaded to direct *Un voyageur*. Encouraged by Ophuls, he embarked in 2012 on the production of *Les Fant\u00F4mes de Marguerite*, which was selected for numerous festivals, including the *\u00C9tats g\u00E9n\u00E9raux du film documentaire* in Lussas, and for which he completed the final version in 2026.
