Was ist hundertsechzig Jahre nach ihrer Geburt von Camille Claudel übrig geblieben? Eine Handvoll Fotografien, wenige Werke und ein Mythos: der einer rebellischen Künstlerin, einer flammenden Frau mit gebrochenem Schicksal, der Muse Rodins, die nach ihrer leidenschaftlichen Beziehung in den Wahnsinn getrieben wurde. In einer Zeit, in der nur wenige Frauen eine künstlerische Laufbahn einschlugen, gelang es ihr, ihren kühnen Stil in der Welt der Bildhauerei, die damals als die männliche Kunst schlechthin galt, durchzusetzen, indem sie sich ihres Talents sicher war und dank der materiellen Unterstützung Rodins, dessen Inspiration und nicht seine Schülerin sie war, ihren Stil durchsetzte.
