In the Auxois valleys, hemp cultivation was widespread until the mid-19th century. Today, France is Europe’s leading producer. Over two days, EVAuxois will bring the crafts of the past back to life and showcase the sector’s revival.
From 2.30 pm to 6.00 pm, visitors will be able to explore three sites in Villy-en-Auxois:
- Rue Larcher: A demonstration of the processing of industrial hemp stalks: retting, scutching and carding.
- Atelier Picard: A hand-operated loom will be on display and the weaving technique explained. Hemp bed linen and clothing will be exhibited.
- The Château: Contemporary hemp products will be on display: foodstuffs, technical textiles, clothing, food products and cosmetics…
On Saturdays and Sundays at 3.30 pm at the château: talks with Mr Serge Wrobleski from Alentour (Lux); he will discuss the use of hemp in construction and answer visitors’ questions.

Dans les vallées de l’Auxois, la culture du chanvre était très répandue jusqu’au milieu du 19e siècle. Aujourd'hui, la France est le premier producteur européen. Durant deux jours, EVAuxois fera renaître les artisanats du passé et témoignera du renouveau de la filière.
De 14h30 à 18h00, les visiteurs circuleront dans Villy-en-Auxois entre trois sites:
- Rue Larcher: Présentation du travail sur les tiges de chanvre industriel : rouissage, teillage, cardage.
- Atelier Picard: Le métier à tisser à bras sera visible et la technique du tissage expliquée. Des draps et vêtements en chanvre seront exposés.
- Château: Des produits en chanvre contemporains seront exposés : produits alimentaires, textiles techniques, vêtements, produits alimentaires et cosmétiques…
Les samedi et dimanche à 15h30 au château : causeries avec Monsieur Serge Wrobleski de la Société Alentour (Lux); il présentera l’utilisation du chanvre dans la construction et répondra aux questions des visiteurs.

In de valleien van de Auxois was de hennepteelt tot halverwege de 19e eeuw zeer wijdverbreid. Tegenwoordig is Frankrijk de grootste producent van Europa. Gedurende twee dagen laat EVAuxois de ambachten uit het verleden herleven en getuigt het van de heropleving van de sector.
Van 14.30 tot 18.00 uur kunnen bezoekers in Villy-en-Auxois tussen drie locaties heen en weer lopen:
- Rue Larcher: demonstratie van het bewerken van industriële hennepstengels: roesten, ontvezelen, kaarden.
- Atelier Picard: het handweefgetouw is te bezichtigen en de weeftechniek wordt uitgelegd. Er worden lakens en kledingstukken van hennep tentoongesteld.
- Kasteel: Er worden hedendaagse hennepproducten tentoongesteld: levensmiddelen, technisch textiel, kleding, cosmetica...
Op zaterdag en zondag om 15.30 uur in het kasteel: lezingen met de heer Serge Wrobleski van de vereniging Alentour (Lux); hij zal het gebruik van hennep in de bouw toelichten en vragen van bezoekers beantwoorden.

Nelle valli dell’Auxois, la coltivazione della canapa era molto diffusa fino alla metà del XIX secolo. Oggi la Francia è il primo produttore europeo. Per due giorni, EVAuxois farà rivivere i mestieri del passato e testimonierà la rinascita della filiera.
Dalle 14:30 alle 18:00, i visitatori potranno spostarsi a Villy-en-Auxois tra tre siti:
- Rue Larcher: Presentazione della lavorazione degli steli di canapa industriale: macerazione, stigliatura, cardatura.
- Atelier Picard: sarà possibile osservare il telaio a mano e verrà illustrata la tecnica di tessitura. Saranno esposti lenzuola e capi di abbigliamento in canapa.
- Castello: saranno esposti prodotti contemporanei in canapa: prodotti alimentari, tessuti tecnici, abbigliamento, prodotti alimentari e cosmetici...
Sabato e domenica alle 15:30 al castello: incontri con Serge Wrobleski della società Alentour (Lussemburgo); illustrerà l’uso della canapa nell’edilizia e risponderà alle domande dei visitatori.

En los valles del Auxois, el cultivo del cáñamo estaba muy extendido hasta mediados del siglo XIX. Hoy en día, Francia es el primer productor europeo. Durante dos días, EVAuxois revivirá la artesanía del pasado y dará testimonio del renacimiento de este sector.
De 14:30 a 18:00, los visitantes podrán recorrer Villy-en-Auxois entre tres emplazamientos:
- Calle Larcher: Presentación del trabajo con los tallos de cáñamo industrial: remojo, deshojado y cardado.
- Taller Picard: se podrá ver el telar manual y se explicará la técnica del tejido. Se expondrán sábanas y prendas de vestir de cáñamo.
- Castillo: Se expondrán productos contemporáneos de cáñamo: productos alimenticios, textiles técnicos, prendas de vestir, productos alimenticios y cosméticos...
Los sábados y domingos a las 15:30 h en el castillo: charlas con el señor Serge Wrobleski, de la empresa Alentour (Lux); presentará el uso del cáñamo en la construcción y responderá a las preguntas de los visitantes.
