Anglais 1. After leaving your vehicle, take the path up to the right of the entrance to the "Campagnole" shooting range. Continue along this path which runs alongside a military field. A little further on the right, you can see the remains of military constructions dating from the Second World War: anti-aircraft fences. The stony path leads through low vegetation of oak, rockrose, argelas, Spanish lilac, thyme and rosemary.
Continue on the main path, do not take the one on your right. At the highest point, enjoy the peace and quiet. Follow the stony path as it begins a long descent. Stay on the left-hand path which runs alongside the shooting range. The vegetation is still low, you can see on the right brooms lost in the middle of small oaks, plants of Sénevé or mustard of the fields whose yellow flowers delight the sight with the buttercups in the beautiful season. On your right, you have beautiful views of the Ecole de l'Air which houses the Patrouille de France. On your way, the massif that appears in the distance on your right is the Alpilles massif.
2. At the end of the path you will see some houses, turn right, continue for 60 m and you will arrive at the tarmac road.
3. Turn right again onto the Chemin du Puits de l'Olivier. You are now following the place called "Coteaux des Oiseaux" lined with houses on your left.
4. At the intersection with the Chemin du Coteaux des Oiseaux, take the dirt track on the right towards the hill.
As you take this path you can see wild yellow immortelle bushes on the edge, and as you go along you pass through cultivated fields, vines on your left and olive trees on your right. Continue on this main path.
Soon the view opens up over Lançon. The path is now lined with wheat fields and vineyards on both sides.
Just before the bend to the left you can see a fine example of an air defence flak shelter.
5. About 100m before a large farmhouse in front of you, take the path to the right towards the hill. From this path you can see the beautiful tower-like dovecote of the property.
You pass between two fields of vines. At the edge of the path you will find field flowers, especially the wild mallow.
6. At the end, the path turns left and then right, go straight on up the hill, leaving the cultivated fields, the "bancaous" on your right and the dry stone walls on your left. Follow the main path which goes straight along the Vallon de la Mer. This path was used by the people of Lançonnais who took the train at the old Calissanne station to go to the "sea" (Etang de Berre). It is winding and passes through thyme, rosemary, rockrose, wild iris...
7. At the top, join the path that runs alongside the military field. Turn left, you are heading towards the starting point.
