Daniel Balavoine, tevens een fervent voorvechter van de zaken die hem na aan het hart lagen (met name onderwijs en de strijd tegen armoede), heeftsociale en humanitaire thema’s aangekaart en verdedigd gedurende zijn carrière, die in 1986 op tragische wijze werd beëindigd door een helikopterongeluk.
