Die auf einem Felsvorsprung errichtete Burg, die bereits im 10. Jahrhundert bezeugt ist, wurde im 15. Jahrhundert von den Herzögen von Burgund, die Grafen von Charolais waren, stark umgebaut. Der runde Turm, der unter Karl dem Kühnen (15. Jahrhundert) erbaut und nach dem Herzog benannt wurde, ist eines der wenigen noch erhaltenen Elemente der Burg.

Built on a rocky escarpment, its castle, attested as early as the 10th century, was heavily modified in the 15th century by the Dukes of Burgundy, who were Counts of Charolais. The circular tower, built under Charles the Bold (15th century) and named after the duke, is one of the rare elements of the castle still in existence.

Costruito su una scarpata rocciosa, il suo castello, attestato già nel X secolo, fu pesantemente modificato nel XV secolo dai duchi di Borgogna, che erano conti di Charolais. La torre circolare, costruita sotto Carlo il Temerario (XV secolo) e intitolata al duca, è uno dei pochi elementi rimasti del castello.

La tour circulaire, construite sous Charles le Téméraire (XVème siècle) et baptisée du nom du duc, est un des rares éléments du château encore existant.
