Anglais The words "country" and "landscapes" conjure up a thousand realities that make up the charm of the Périgord Noir. Landscapes alternate between valleys, cliffs and plateaus. Rural dwellings abound, from huts to manor houses.
But artists and walkers alike are drawn to the picturesque valleys and cliffs. Here, it is above all a sensitivity to the rural landscape, the soft light and the contrasts between rock and vegetation that dominates.
The "Pays-Paysages" exhibition retraces more than half a century of landscape representations in paintings, engravings and drawings, from the late 19th century to the 1950s, confronted here with works by contemporary artists. The latter testify to the ever-renewed interest in the theme.
