Whether he’s stacking bricks on top of his head or attempting a climbing feat, his art combines great simplicity with great difficulty. He stubbornly persists in staging this absurdly adventurous, burlesque circus—and sometimes even in sabotaging it. And without seeming to, his feats—made up of dizzying little nothings—border on the marvelous.</p><p>As a counterpoint, Lola Calvet’s ethereal voice moves, with equal grace, from Britney Spears to Irish ballads. She sings; he soars.
