As you know, for the past four years, Bicycl’Earth has been working on a study entitled ‘Europeans and climate change and biodiversity loss’ in partnership with researchers Simon Calla, a sociologist (LAsA in Besançon), and Cyril Masselot, a researcher in Information and Communication Sciences (CIMEO, MSHE in Besançon). The cycling journey undertaken in 2023 and 2024 by Marie-Laure and Julien, the association’s co-founders, served as the basis for data collection.
Since then, Marie-Laure and Julien have also worked alongside the researchers to analyse the study’s findings, giving the project an innovative research framework—from its inception to the final results—by involving both academic and non-academic researchers in the process.
We are delighted to announce that this study is drawing to a close and will result in the publication of five scientific articles, the first of which has been submitted to the journal *Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Nature*. So this (sociological!) adventure within the (cycling!) adventure is coming to an end. So, to celebrate both the study and all the partnerships that have made it possible, to present the findings to you and to discuss them with you, we invite you to a special evening! During the evening, Marie-Laure will also be screening her film ‘Aux 4 Coins de l’Europe à Vélo’ to recount her cycling journey (a short film – 46 minutes).
