Néerlandais (Pays-Bas) AraWa bestaat uit vijf muzikanten met verschillende achtergronden en invloeden, die op het podium samenkomen om een energieke en verfijnde sound neer te zetten.
Het is moeilijk om de muziekstijl in een hokje te plaatsen. De machines bepalen de electro-klank van het project, terwijl een meer akoestische bezetting – een viool, een souba, een accordeon en een saxofoon – zorgt voor een organische textuur en dit hybride geheel compleet maakt.
Onder leiding van een hoofdcomponist wordt elk nummer collectief gearrangeerd. Het is ook een voorwendsel om een specifieke stijl of klankkleur te verkennen. De stukken zijn gevarieerd en eclectisch: van Bach tot Hight Tone, van de manouche-traditie tot Guillaume Perret, gehuld in een fantasierijke, melancholische, vrije en eigenzinnige sfeer.
