Pour sa 1ère édition, CONTEMPO’Reims, soutenu par l’association POP’aRt, invite la jeune artiste plasticienne Victoria David à créer une œuvre in situ pour le Trésor de Reims. Ce lieu dédié à la culture est l'ancienne demeure du Trésorier de la ville, construite au XIIème siècle. En fusionnant le passé et le présent, il s’agit d’offrir au public une interprétation contemporaine du passé historique de la cité.
« On s’est déjà vu ? » propose une installation tout en volume, dans laquelle le public va pouvoir déambuler, au travers des îlots, comme dans un labyrinthe et observer ces personnages colorés et nombreux. En jouant sur le multiple et l’unique, Victoria nous emmène sur un chemin initiatique, traversant les époques et les continents.
Jeune artiste plasticienne, diplômée de l'ESAD avec les félicitations du jury en 2018, Victoria David poursuit ses recherches et travaux artistiques en pratiquant différents matériaux, différentes techniques. Le travail en trois dimensions est son domaine de prédilection. Questionnant la matérialité du temps, le rapport des objets d’art anciens au présent et à leur usure, créer une œuvre in situ en rapport avec le patrimoine va de soi pour Victoria David.

Néerlandais (Pays-Bas) CONTEMPO'Reims is een meeslepende ervaring die het erfgoed van Reims en de hedendaagse creatie met elkaar verbindt. Het tot stand brengen van een dialoog tussen het verleden en het heden; een discussie tussen overblijfselen uit het verleden en hedendaagse creatie. Een gesprek tussen collectieve geschiedenis en intieme verhalen.
Voor haar eerste editie heeft CONTEMPO'Reims, gesteund door de vereniging POP'aRt, de jonge beeldende kunstenares Victoria David uitgenodigd om een werk in situ te creëren voor het Trésor de Reims. Deze plaats gewijd aan cultuur is de voormalige residentie van de penningmeester van de stad, gebouwd in de 12e eeuw. Door het verleden en het heden samen te voegen wil men het publiek een hedendaagse interpretatie van het historische verleden van de stad bieden.
"We've already met" stelt een volume-installatie voor waarin het publiek als in een labyrint door de eilanden kan dwalen en deze talrijke kleurrijke personages kan observeren. Door te spelen met het veelvoudige en het unieke, neemt Victoria ons mee op een inwijdingsreis, die tijdperken en continenten doorkruist.
Jonge beeldend kunstenaar, afgestudeerd aan ESAD met onderscheiding in 2018, Victoria David vervolgt haar onderzoek en artistieke werk door het beoefenen van verschillende materialen en technieken. Driedimensionaal werk is haar favoriete werkterrein. Het bevragen van de materialiteit van de tijd, de relatie van oude kunstvoorwerpen tot het heden en hun slijtage, het creëren van een werk in situ in relatie tot erfgoed is voor Victoria David vanzelfsprekend.
