Néerlandais (Pays-Bas) In 1999 gingen de audities van start om de jonge jongen te vinden die Harry Potter zou gaan spelen en die daarmee wereldberoemd zou worden. Honderden jongens deden auditie. Uiteindelijk bleven er nog maar twee over. Deze voorstelling vertelt het verhaal van degene die niet werd gekozen.
Martin Hill, gekweld door deze mislukking, moet leren leven met de rol die hem is ontglipt, en met de schaduw die hem overal volgt. Elk moment herinnert hem aan wat hij heeft verloren: een wereld die de zijne had kunnen zijn.
In een inventieve enscenering van Sophie Accard vertolken vier acteurs een veelheid aan personages met een subtiele balans tussen tederheid en ironie. Nummer twee biedt een subtiele reflectie op de plaats die we innemen – of juist niet innemen – in een wereld waarin dromen kwetsbaar zijn. Is succes echt de sleutel tot geluk? Martin Hill, rongé par cet échec, doit apprendre à vivre avec ce rôle qui lui a échappé, et l’ombre qui le suit partout. Chaque instant lui rappelle ce qu’il a perdu, un monde qui aurait pu être le sien.
