la sua fondazione, il gruppo torna sul palco integrando, in particolare, un
nuovo cantante: l’occasione per il progetto di rinnovare il repertorio attorno a
nuovi testi. Il gruppo, fondato nel 2005, si è esibito su diversi palchi
(il Glazart a Parigi, l’Havana a Tolosa, il festival Radio France a Montpellier, il
Montreux Jazz Festival in Svizzera).

Anglais Zingabe draws its inspiration from the explosive blend of funk, soul, jazz, and
Afro-Cuban music pioneered by Fela Kuti. Also influenced by the
Brooklyn-based band Antibalas, this 11-piece collective performs its
original compositions in a raucous and joyful celebration of Afrobeat. Twenty years after
its formation, the band is hitting the road again, notably featuring a
new singer—an opportunity for the project to revamp its repertoire around
new lyrics. The band, founded in 2005, has performed at various venues
(Glazart in Paris, Havana in Toulouse, the Radio France Festival in Montpellier, and the
Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland).

Afro-Cubaanse muziek, die door Fela Kuti in gang is gezet. Ook beïnvloed door de
Brooklynse groep Antibalas, brengt dit collectief van 11 muzikanten zijn
originele composities ten gehore in een luidruchtige en vrolijke viering van de afrobeat. Twintig jaar na
de oprichting keert de groep terug naar het podium, met onder meer een
nieuwe zanger, wat het project de gelegenheid biedt om het repertoire te vernieuwen met
nieuwe teksten. De groep, opgericht in 2005, trad op verschillende podia op
(het Glazart in Parijs, het Havana in Toulouse, het Radio France-festival in Montpellier en het
Montreux Jazz Festival in Zwitserland).

afro-kubanischer Musik inspirieren, die von Fela Kuti ins Leben gerufen wurde. Ebenfalls beeinflusst von der
Brooklyn-Band Antibalas präsentiert dieses Kollektiv aus elf Musikern seine
Eigenkompositionen in einer ausgelassenen und fröhlichen Hommage an den Afrobeat. 20 Jahre nach
ihrer Gründung kehrt die Band auf die Bühne zurück und nimmt dabei insbesondere einen
neuen Sänger in ihre Reihen auf – eine Gelegenheit für das Projekt, das Repertoire rund um
neue Texte neu zu gestalten. Die 2005 gegründete Band trat bereits auf verschiedenen Bühnen auf
(im Glazart in Paris, im Havana in Toulouse, beim Radio-France-Festival in Montpellier sowie beim
Montreux Jazz Festival in der Schweiz).
