Jahrhundert.
Anglais A native of Béziers, Gustave Fayet (1865–1925) developed a dual artistic sensibility. His artistic practice—which included large-scale set designs, tapestries, and gouaches—was at the heart of the artistic revival of the late 19th century, blending Art Nouveau, botanical inspiration, and Symbolism. Nurturing his art, the collection he built up over time was one of the most comprehensive of its era, bringing together works by Gauguin, Van Gogh, Redon, Cézanne, and Matisse... Drawing on research conducted for the exhibition at the Vuitton Foundation, this lecture explores the life and work of this little-known figure in the arts at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
